Aldi's £3 body mists that 'look and smell like' £24 Sol de Janeiro

Aldi shoppers will be thrilled to spot a popular beauty buy has returned to stores. Swapping from a branded product to this alternative could save shoppers over £20. The Lacura Tropical Essence Body Mists, priced at £2.99, have been seen in the discount supermarket this week. Many shoppers have compared them to the more expensive Sol de Janerio high-end sprays, which (also for 90ml) can sell for around £24 in places like Boots. Aldi's own-brand versions of the sprays are not in the Special Buy section, and instead have been added to the normal beauty and toiletry section. There are three scent options available and - just like Sol de Janerio - each bottle has numbers on the front to match each fragrance. Shoppers could choose from Jasmine and Dragonfruit (28), Pistachio and Salted Caramel (38) and Amber Plum with Vanilla (64). All bottles only cost £3, meaning customers can buy all three and spend significantly less than they would purchasing from the designer brand. The compact 90ml bottles would be ideal for popping into a handbag for on-the-go convenience. Many shoppers were pleased to see the sprays were available once again - it was even flagged in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group. Kat King, who shared the news, wrote: "SOL DE JANEIRO [alternatives] in Aldi !" She also informed shoppers about the Tropical Essence Conditioner, which is also available on Aldi's shelves. The supermarket released a wider Tropical Essence range last summer. It included a shampoo, shower gel, hair mask and booty balm. Shoppers hope that these early releases mean more of the range is returning. In the meantime, Aldi customers vouched for how much they love the affordable range. One said: "They all smell unreal, need to stock up again!" Another added: "The 64 in Aldi literally smells the exact same as Sol De Janeiro 40 - whether it lasts as long is a different matter but it's a fraction of the price so worth a shot if you can't afford the real thing."
