Gang jailed for nearly 50 years after making and selling fake anxiety drug Xanax on dark web

A Black Country gang has been jailed for nearly 50 years after they manufactured huge fake quantities of the anti-anxiety pill Xanax before selling it on the dark web. Brian Pitts, aged 30 and from Wednesbury, together with his father-in-law Lee Lloyd were the main players, co-ordinating the production and sales of counterfeit tablets online from a base in Thailand. It is estimated that more than £4million worth of drugs were sold to customers, primarily in the USA, using Bitcoin to receive payment.
