Here’s How The Corner Store Became New York’s Buzziest Reservation

In this news:

The Corner Store is the first new venture from Catch Hospitality in 13 years.
As the first launch in 13 years from Catch Hospitality Group, The Corner Store had a buzz surrounding its opening from the second the spot was announced. Occupying the former Dos Caminos spot in SoHo, it quickly became one of New York’s hottest reservations within a week of opening its doors, drawing in celebrities like Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, to name a few.
“After co-creating Catch over 15 years ago, we wanted to do something more intimate—something small and rooted in the Soho neighborhood,” says Eugene Remm, co-founder and co-owner of Catch Hospitality Group, in an interview with Forbes. Living just a few minutes away from the location, Remm felt the city needed a space where you could bring family, host a business dinner and share drinks with friends. “There was a gap in Soho for a place like this—classic American cuisine served in a cozy, welcoming space that’s adaptable to any mood. It felt like the perfect opportunity to create something that was both personal and needed.”
Taking inspiration from New York’s iconic dining rooms, the Rockwell Group designed space features vintage NYC photography lining the walls, velvet detailing and cozy striped corner booths. “The inspiration was about capturing the essence of classic New York—a time when restaurants were smaller, menus were simpler, and the focus was on quality and connection,” says Remm. “The Corner Store brings people together—different types of New Yorkers in one room—over a great meal in a space that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It’s about recreating that magical sense of a classic NYC joint.”
The Corner Store’s menu provides upscale takes on classic dishes.
Arguably, what keeps drawing diners in is The Corner Store’s menu, which provides upscale takes on classic dishes. Its exceptional Martini program is another standout. You’ll find dishes like the 5-Cheese Pizza Rolls (what Remm dubs ‘a crowd favorite’), The Corner Store Caesar, the Wagyu French Dip and the signature McOli Sauce with fries on the menu. To accompany the American classics, you can order a bevy of creative Martinis. “Some highlights include an umami-forward Tomato Martini, a dill-infused Sour Cream & Onion Martini, and a tableside martini service for a Dirty Martini tasting experience of our Oli’s Dirty Martini and The Filth Martini—both brines made in-house,” says Remm. “All of our Martini recipes are precisely refined to the exact weight and percentage of water dilution, and then stored in our 0º F freezers delivering a perfectly chilled martini every time.”
