Jisoo’s debut EP Earthquake became a bestseller in her home country of South Korea, and fans around the world tuned in to hear what the Blackpink singer had to say for herself on her first solo project. While the short collection did not reach any Billboard charts, the title’s lead single "Earthquake" does earn the superstar a special win.
"Earthquake" debuts at No. 1 on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart. The tune now ranks as the top-selling track performed in a language other than English or Spanish in the U.S., earning Jisoo her first champion and a brand new top 10 on that list.
Jisoo is now the third member of Blackpink to hit No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. So far, only Rosé has failed to do so, as she hasn't placed on the tally on her own in any position.
That’s not to say that Rosé’s solo output has not been commercially successful in the U.S. It simply means that her releases have not qualified for this roster. She has scored wins on many other rankings, including the Hot 100, where she made history as "Apt." with Bruno Mars soared to No. 3.
Among the four women that make up Blackpink, Jennie is the most successful on the World Digital Song Sales chart. She has only sent two tracks to the list—"Solo" and "Spot!" with Zico—and both have conquered the ranking.
