New ORANGE alert for rains on Costa del Sol. When’s spring?

It never rains, it pours, they say, and we have had a lot of rain this year. Spring doesn’t arrive for another few days yet (Thursday, March 20), and the weather doesn’t want us to forget that we are still officially in winter.
There is another front making its way into the Costa del Sol, and AEMET, the official Spanish meteorological department, has activated the ‘orange’ warning once more, indicating that there will be serious disruption over the next couple of days.
The alert is on for Monday afternoon, March 17, and Tuesday, March 18, with high winds and very heavy rains. Those who have to take the car to work on Tuesday morning, make sure to leave with plenty of time, and pay attention to messages from the kids’ school, and they may close.
The disruption is coming from Storm Garoe this time and will mean a significant change in weather conditions. A couple of days of practically widespread rains are expected, accompanied by strong gusts of wind, as temperatures rise in readiness for spring. This will be the seventh big storm to hit the Costa del Sol in recent months.
