A young Nigerian tech entrepreneur, Hanu Fejiro, has launched a free online training programme to teach Nigerian youths about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and decentralised finance (DeFi). The aim of the programme is to help participants gain the right skills and knowledge to become financially independent in today’s fast-changing digital world.
The training, which is hosted on Telegram, is open to everyone and doesn’t require payment. It includes interactive classes, live sessions with experts, and real-life practicals where participants can earn while they learn. Over 300 people have already gone through the programme, which started with its first batch in March 2024 and continued with another batch in February 2025. This group is expected to finish by the end of March 2025.
Speaking about the initiative, Fejiro said he believes in creating opportunities for young people through technology. “What if the cure for cancer or world hunger is stored in an uneducated mind?” he asked, stressing the need to support both the young and old with learning opportunities.
“Our goal is to train a million people in my lifetime,” he said. “We want to give people the skills they need to succeed and to be part of this global digital transformation. It’s about financial freedom and creating a better future for many.”
The training programme covers a wide range of topics including how cryptocurrency and blockchain work, how to use crypto safely, and how these technologies are used in different industries. Participants also get to interact with experienced professionals in the field and work on real projects. They learn about important tools like Bitcoin ETFs, stablecoins used for cross-border payments, and new blockchain technologies like Arbitrum and Base.
These new digital tools are already changing the way people work and earn money. Many Nigerians are now exploring careers in areas like blockchain development, crypto marketing, NFT strategy, Web3 product management, and data analysis in decentralised finance.
Some of the participants shared how the training has changed their lives. Iyanuoluwa, one of the trainees, said, “This crypto training has really opened my eyes to the world of digital money. I now understand how blockchain works and I’m confident about finding new opportunities in this space.”
Another participant, Kareem, said he has learnt how to find valuable tokens and participate in airdrops. “This training has been very practical. I now know how to track new projects and earn rewards. It has exceeded all my expectations.”
Godwin, another participant, said he now understands how to follow top traders’ wallets, confirm airdrop opportunities, and avoid scams. “The training has given me knowledge that I didn’t have before,” he added.
Hanu Fejiro also announced that 100 young Nigerians will be given full scholarships to study at AltSchool, where they will receive diplomas in technology-related courses. This is part of his broader plan to equip Nigerian youths with the knowledge and tools needed to excel in tech.
He believes that with the right training, young Nigerians can take the lead in the global tech revolution. The next edition of the Web3 training programme will start on April 28, 2025. Interested participants can apply by visiting Fejiro’s social media pages.
