Sol de Janeiro is keeping its crown for 2025, after dominating beauty in 2024. The bath and body mist brand needs no introduction, its Brazilian-based scents are famous the world over for smelling delicious.
Its Bum Bum Jet Set travel kit is probably the most-bought item in Duty-Free stores across the globe, and last year it brought back the discontinued Bikini Season scent after customers begged for its rturn.
That is now called Cheirosa '48 and it will stay in the permanent collection. As Sol de Janeiro launches three new limited-edition scents, we wonder will one (or all) of these be hanging around in the months to come. They sound great, to be fair.
Sol de Janeiro 'Secret Garden' Collection
Sol de Janeiro has created these three new scents for summer and they are designed to take you from day to night. The emphasis of tropical flowers, juicy fruits and exotic flowers is at the core of every Sol fragrance, and it's here in spades.
The three are called Flor Mística, Água Mística, and Dança Mística, and they each have their own olfactory story to tell. See which one grabs your attention and we'll show you where to get them, because they are exclusive to one store at the minute.
Flor Mística
Flor Mística instantly transports you to the sandy shores of Copacabana, and its top notes include orange blossom and sunlit gardenia, the most tropical and luscious white floral.
The dry-down of cool coconut water, white rose and golden musk is a second-skin scent, a trending finish that should please Sol de Janeiro fans.
Água Mística
Água Mística is inspired by the crystal waters at the beach of Prainha in Bahia. Fresh and airy, this scent has notes of neroli water, peony flowers, juicy tangerine and a touch of sea salt to replicate that sun-kissed and salty skin you get in summer.
Even though all of Sol de Janeiro's scents are unisex, this is the one we think is more a guy's scent, very fresh, intriguing and a little sexy too.
Dança Mística
Dança Mística is the party scent of the new Sol de Janeiro and it's the one we'll be buying first. Sol says this is your 'stairway to the sun, sea and samba of Brazil' and we like that image a lot.
Here, juicy purple fig with drops of lily of the valley sparkle with a Champagne accord before warm creamy sandalwood and rich vanilla enter the party. This is a dance-till-dawn scent and is made for fun nights under the stars. Each of the Secret Garden scents is 90ml and costs €27.12 exclusively on (while stocks last), so they are travel-friendly and very good value.
