Torremendo comes in from the Dark

In this news:

The Mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara, and the Councilor for Infrastructure, Víctor Valverde, recently visited the district of Torremendo to inspect the newly completed public lighting improvements. They were accompanied by the local pedania, Sonia Bautista.
As Councilor Víctor Valverde pointed out, “For several years, this area had been without street lighting, and restoring it has been a long-standing demand from residents.”
He explained that the project involved upgrading the electrical control panel with a new circuit, complete with protections and appropriate wiring. Additionally, around 36 LED streetlights were installed along the road from the La Virgen neighbourhood to Calle San Isidro, as well as replacing the lighting on the street by the sports centre. The total cost of the project was €14,400.
Bautista expressed her gratitude to Orihuela City Council, stating, “At last, these streets have light again. We had been waiting far too long for a solution.”
Mayor Pepe Vegara said the significance of the project, saying, “This initiative resolves a long-standing issue that residents of Torremendo have endured for years. We are committed to continuing improvements in public services, not only in our districts but throughout the municipality.”
