Used Tesla Cybertruck prices are in a free fall.
Used Cybertruck prices are beginning to make more sense after a long period of inflation. The average asking price has fallen by about $10,000 in the last 60+ days (see CarGurus chart below). But the price can still be confounding.
A quick glance at used All-Wheel Drive Cybertruck prices on CarGurus (lowest prices first), shows many falling into the $72K - $78K range. That’s below $79,990, the new price of an AWD CT. That’s progress over, let’s say, six months ago when most used pricing exceeded new CT pricing. Often by a lot. But the confusion comes when you throw in the $7,500 federal tax credit on a new AWD Cybertruck. That brings the price down to $72,490. Then a used CT looks a lot less appealing.
This logic also applies to the $99,990 tri-motor Cyberbeast too. Many Cyberbeast used asking prices soar well above $100,000.

Dealers don’t have a clue
I’ve made calls to multiple dealers selling used CTs over the past several months. These are often legacy car dealerships who know little to nothing about the Cybertruck. A typical conversation I’ve had goes: “Why is it priced above a new Cybertruck?” Answer: “Don’t know. That’s what the computer shows. We just go by market prices.” (In some cases, when I’ve persisted, I found out that it was a Foundation Series Cybertruck, which includes extra goodies like Full Self Driving. That justifies a higher price but those cases are increasingly rare. )
